Southern Region Ringette Association introduces :our 2019-2020 AAA Head Coach, Freedom Warne

Freedom grew up in Northern Ontario, in Sudbury, where she began playing ringette on outdoor rinks at the age of 4. Freedom has over 3 decades of experience as a ringette player including AAA currently at Open AA, and more than a decade of coaching experience. Her passion, desire to continue to learn, her dedication to the sport and desire to develop and mentor players is demonstrated numerous times over her ringette career with no end in sight.

Playing ringette is only one dimension of Freedom's ringette expertise. She brings over 13 years of coaching experience with her to the AAA bench. She began her coaching career in Sudbury at the U12 Provincial level and has since helped coach 2 seasons at AAA with the United AAA team, U14AA Team Ontario and ECRC Silver medalist, 5 years with U16AA teams and this year with the Laurentian University Ringette team. As Head Coach Freedom lead her U16AA team to a silver medal at provincials and the consolation gold at nationals in Winnipeg 2018.

Freedom's long career as player and coach has allowed her to experience unique and rewarding opportunities playing with those she has coached and mentored. Freedom's teammates and coaching partners have referred to Freedom as a leader who is "always approachable, communicates well, is highly organized and has a very good understanding of the game". We are excited to have her as the Head Coach of the Southern AAA team for the upcoming season.

Please check the website again in mid-January for more information on the 2019-20 AAA program.
