Ringette Ontario has revised its Membership Policy and will be introducing a new membership application process for all clubs at the beginning of the 2021-22 season. Clubs will be required to fill out the membership application form at the beginning of each new season between July 1st and September 1st and submit to Ringette Ontario for approval.

The purpose of the policy and application form is to create a standard of operational excellence with each of our “Quality Ringette Provider” clubs across the province as well as RO sanctioned teams and leagues. Having said that, we understand and expect that this will be a process and look to achieve this over the next 3 years, with each year having specific levels of achievement and requirements. The application specifically will allow us to identify any gaps the club my currently have and allow us to effectively work together in providing tools and resources to bridge those gaps.

Many clubs will have already implemented some of the policies, procedures and documents requested in the membership application form. As we move forward together, Ringette Ontario and the Manager of Club Development will be there to support and work with clubs on any outstanding pieces or requirements set out in the membership application. We believe that as we move towards operational excellence clubs will not only mitigate risk at a club level, but will continue to building trust within their communities and be able to effectively recruit and retain its members as you provide a safe environment for your athletes, coaches, and parents.

Similarly to the amazing work that was done during this past year and overcoming the challenges COVID presented, we are confident that clubs across the province will be able to achieve operational excellence as they work with Ringette Ontario and meet these standards set out in the membership policy and application form. The groundwork and foundation of many of these pieces have been laid out through our club education webinar sessions as well as the RO club development playbook, we will continue to add to these pieces as we move forward and build on that foundation for success.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, we would like to have any feedback or points of clarification regarding the Ringette Ontario membership policy and application. Review the FAQ document HERE to help in answering questions surrounding the Membership Policy and Application.
